The Moka Pot uses steam pressure to force water through coffee grounds. It produces a strong, dense cup that sits somewhere between espresso and drip coffee. Ideal for those who enjoy strong coffee or milk-based beverages.
Heat Water
Pre-boil your water and fill the bottom chamber with hot water up to the safety valve.
Grind
Grind enough coffee to fill your filter basket (usually 16-20g) to a fine-medium consistency (coarser than espresso, but finer than drip).
Add Coffee
Insert the filter basket and fill it loosely with coffee. Level it gently, but do not tamp it down.
Assemble and Heat
Screw on the top chamber securely (use a towel as the base will be hot). Place it on the stove over medium-low heat with the top open.
Watch and Serve
Coffee will begin to slowly emerge into the top chamber. When it starts to sputter or hiss, remove from heat immediately and serve.
