Cold brewing extracts coffee using time instead of heat. The result is a smooth, sweet concentrate with low acidity that is perfect for iced drinks or mixing with milk.
Grind
Grind 80g of coffee to a very coarse consistency (like cracked pepper)
Combine
Add the ground coffee to a large jar or cold brew maker. Pour 1000ml of cold or room temperature filtered water over the grounds.
Stir
Stir well to ensure all the coffee grounds are fully saturated.
Steep
Cover the container and let it steep in the refrigerator for 16 - 24 hours. The longer it steeps, the stronger the concentrate.
Filter
Strain the mixture through a paper filter or fine mesh sieve to remove all grounds.
Dilute and Serve
Mix the concentrate with equal parts water or milk, pour over ice, and enjoy.
